Happy Birthday -- ICSketches #31

I found a new sketch blog called Inspirational Card Sketches and this sketch is due today. So the creativity was flowing and here is what I created. I can always use birthday cards for my friends. This is for sketch #31 and I like it. I used Bo Bunny the Kitchen Spice set with the matching dots. I used amber bling in the flowers and wrote out Happy Birthday. I am excited since i used the chocolate brown lace trim and it really looks nice.

Back To School Cards for my Friends

I hate to say it, but school will be starting for me on Wednesday with the teachers. The kids will start on the 8th. We have 3 days of meetings and I decided my friends will need a little pick-me-up. I made this card that says "Get Up! Time for School" then you open the bows up on the sides and you open it up and there is a pocket that holds a sticky pad with apples and it says, "Enjoy" on the flap.

I made four of these to start my 30th year. I think I have 4 more Septembers.

I'm Back with Unscripted Sketch #21

This week I was down with a virus and spent most of it asleep on the couch. It was 107 degrees and I was shivering, so you know I was sick. My boys haven't seen me sick much and thought I was kidding -- when they realized they would have people call me to check on me. How sweet.
Now onto my challenge and it felt good to do, since I missed some I wanted to do last week. This is Challenge #21 at Unscripted Sketches. I rotated the sketch and came up with this. I used Martha Stewart bling, Marvy flower punch, Stampin'Up border punch, some left over letters and solid paper. I plan to send this to a teacher who retired in June to get to her on the first day of school.

In Memory of SHOOTERS

Well, I got this idea from the sketch I saw at Unscripted Sketches #20. It started out simple and ended up with a lot of bling. It looks better in real life. I did this in memory of Shooters who we had to put down in 2006. I love the title and she was our little "Star".

Caardvarks Challenge

Last night I saw this challenge for Caardvarks and thought I could do it. The challenge called for pink, white and black. So... I used Pink Stampin'Up cardstock as the card. Then I took some black embossing metal and used the Cuttlebug Birthday embosser, matted it with white cardstock and used the embosser with the swiss dot folder and then had some hot pink ribbon which I edged the black with. It is a simple card, but I believe it looks elegant.

Bo Bunny Card Sketch Challenge

I did this card for the Bo Bunny Sketch Challenge on their blog. I used the new line of Kitchen Spice AllSpice, Kitchen Spice Cloves, with Bo Bunny flowers, The Bo Bunny Paprika Double Dot Paper, the Martha Stewart Scalloped Punch and letters from My Little ShoeBox. I love how it turned out and I don't know if i will send it out. What a great sketch and I will use it again and follow it more closely. Hope you enjoy this.

The Challenge is Finished

Well, I finished up the challenge. The one on the left that says Thank You, I used a punched out scallop green circle, the gold paper and the brown ribbon that was given to me. I added yellow bling and chocolate chip Stampin'Up Cardstock that I ran through the embosser.

The card on the right, is my favorite of the day. I used Brown, Tan and Teal to match the ribbon that April gave me. I did buy the paper, but will use it for other cards. I used my fiskars punch of Apron Lace to do the edges.

This card I had the paper and says friends and I wrote HELLO. I added the ribbon and pink cardstock. April gave me the pink flower and bling also the butterfly and bling.

This last card is a 3X3 using the paper that has the dragon on the front and has bling eyes. The letters are brown letters I stuck on.
So this is all I did from the kit that April sent, a total of 8 cards with a lot of thought.

Challenge using what was sent to me

I have been doing a challenge for Scrappin' Coast 2 Coast done by April. Let me tell you it was a true challenge. She sent us an envelope full of things used to make a card. She sent 3 different sizes of paper and some embellishments and ribbon. It was truely a challenge for me as I would not have bought the paper. I did add my cardstock, which is Stampin'Up and some embellishments to make it my own. I have a few more to finish and will make another post later today, but here is a start.

This card does not look like what I thought, but I like it much better. So this summer I have made 36 Christmas cards for this trade. It will be nice to see what others have made.

This is my Creation for Unscripted Sketches #19

Well, I am back from visiting my son in Las Vegas and finally have a few challenges to do. I lost my mojo there while I was visiting, but it is back today. This card was done for Unscripted Sketches #19. I had fun using the Cuttlebug to cut out the flower and emboss it, I used some seed beads for the middle of the flower, the polka dotted paper is from Paper Trey and cardstock from Stampin'Up. You can't really see it, but under the Happy Birthday is a row of bling. I made card for one of my Red Hat friends. Hope you enjoy this and I have a few more to do.

I love using my Cuttlebug for the embossing of Happy Holidays and cutting out the tag. This is not the traditional colors with the blue standing out, but I think the pattern paper was asking for this. I hope they like them.

Challenge for Eat, Sleep, Stamp #47

This card was made for the sketch on Eat, Sleep, Stamp #47. (This is for the sketchy Thursday challenge) I made it to send to a friend who just retired to see what she is doing. I combined a lot of elements: ribbon, bling, Cuttlebug, embossed metal, pattern paper and card stock. This is the first time I have done a challenge for this blog and I had fun doing it.

I loved the Unscripted Sketches #18

I finished packing for Vegas and have some time to try some of the new sketches that came out today. I dug through my paper and supplies and did this one for Unscripted Sketches #18. I left off a sentiment and can either use it for a Birthday or a Thank You card. I really like how this went together. The picture does not show the light blue background and I picked up the colors with the flower which I built being light blue, pink, and then hot pink with a light blue large brad in the middle.

Christmas Stampin' All Year Long -- Sketch Challenge #28

I finally took time to finish this card this week. It is for a challenge on Christmas Stampin' All Year Long and is sketch challenge #28. I had a lot of fun doing this and it just might be a card I do in mass production. My favorite is the embossed metal with the pom pom's and I know there won't be another card with both those elements.

My Rendition of Unscripted Sketches #17

This is what I saw in Sketch #17 of Unscripted Sketches. My 3 items were on the square and not on a circle. I just went off in a different direction, but thanks for the sketch to get me to do this. I do like it and I am sure my friend who is getting the card will love it. Funny, I don't use orange much but am trying to use my scraps and it is really growing on me.

Christmas Card Trade

I have been busy working on a trade that includes 3 different cards. Here is the first one that I completed. I love using the cuttlebug with metal -- it makes it look so wonderful. There are 12 in the trade and there is a picture on the left of all of them and on the right, a close up of one. I love that folder. I need to get the second set done tonight. I have the paper and idea, now just to do them.

My Favorite Folder -- Challenge #42

This was done for a challenge on the CuttleBug Spot, challenge #42. It was to use your favorite folders.

The Happy Birthday folder is one of my favorites and now I am adding it to my newest favorite of using some silver metal I bought. I just love how it embosses on it. I mounted it on eggplant cardstock from Stampin'Up. I also cut out my tag by using the Halloween sign die and embossed it with the Birthday 3 X 2 folders and tied it off with some ribbon. The picture doesn't show the metal adhered to the eggplant cardstock. It was an easy card and impresses people immensely.
