New Blog Inspiration

Last night I was searching blogs since nothing on TV looked good.  I found this new blog called Scrapstuffz "Inspired by" Challenges .  It showed a picture of 3 different scrapbook papers and we were supposed to pick what we wanted out of those pages.
My first inspiration was the colors, next was the circles and last the stars.  I also figured I could do a in of girlie type layout, and I did.
Here is what I came up with:

I used :  Birthday Girl y Bella Blvd, bling and flowers along with cardstock.

Having fun making different cards

Yesterday I decided to play, so I ted to share some of the cards I made.  I can't show you the DT's cards I did, but I was very inspired and I believe it shows.
On the first card I am sharing, I got the challenge from Bev on My Scraps and More.  She asked us to make a JOY fold card, which I had never done.  I followed the tutorial and added my personality to it.  I used My Mind's Eye, Cambridge Court and embellishments, except the Circle that says Birthday Girl is from SRM sentiment and I added some stickles to it to pick up the pink.

Here it is:

The little blue card is where you write whatever you want and Birthday Girl holds it in place.

Next Bev challenged us to do another card that had a bit of origami in it.  It is called an Origami Shadow Box and is really easy and not intimidating at all. Great tutorial to follow.  Once again I used My Mind's Eye Cambridge Court and embellishments and my SRM Sentiment Sticker (they make my life easier by just placing the sentiment where I want it).
Now I have 2 birthday cards for next month's birthday's and I have about 5 friends who are celebrating.

Here it is:

I am also entering ths card in Sketch N Scrap's Birthday Card for their Birthday Party.

Hope you enjoyed these cards today.

Too Tall with new sketch at Sketches: Creatively Yours.

Hi,
Working on Ireland again because I want to give my son 20 more scrapped pages for Christmas and I think I have done 5, so best get working.
I took Ali's sketch from Sketches: Creatively Yours and found some inspiration for these pictures.
The sketch:

I knew that the anchor could be a camera and it would work for me.  So I used Simple Stories -- 24/7 and it was perfect.  I leave the journaling for them, as I am not sure where it is and I might say something like good thing you weren't born in Ireland because you would not fit in doorways as he is 6' even.  So someday I will see the journaling.

I just had to scrap these -- so cute.

Come on over and play with me and this sketch at Sketches: Creative Yours.  Hope to see you there.

I had so much fun with this card

Today is the reveal for Cards in Envy.  This challenge is to make your own background.  This runs May20 -- June 2.

On my card I used a tag base from Ranger and cut it down to fit in an A2 envelope at 5 1/2 inches, which is a  regular envelope.  This time I used Alcohol Inks by Ranger, the silver, grey and black and put drops on my splat mat and swirled them around with my tag.  It dried really quick and I realized I wanted more colors so I did it again.  I made sure it was dry before I stamped my images.  I used the stamp "On the Railroad" Stampers Anonymous -- Tim Holtz Collection and Archival Black ink.  I stamped the train track about 3 times lined it up each time.  When I knew it was dry I stamped the train, once again about 3 times so it stood out.  I made sure it was dry and backed the card with another tag and scored it just underneath the circle and glued a tag to the bottom to make a card.  I made The hole and tags  lined up.  I used some crinkled ribbon through the hole picking up the excess alcohol ink and crinkling it and let it dry.  I put it through the tag and when I mailed it I just pulled t straight when I put in the envelope  I wanted to make a sentiment so Tim Holtz came out with matchbox letters and I did "Good Luck".  You see I know someone who will be finishing conductor school and thought this would make a great card.

Here is what the card looks like:

This is a close up of the card and it really looks like smoke is coming out of the smoke stack.  It is a very masculine card.

Birthday Card Post using a Sketch from Sketches: Creatively Yours

Now that Spring has hit, I have a lot of  birthdays coming up.  So I decided I best get busy getting those cards done.
The weather has a lot to do which paper I pick.  So I found my JillyBean Soup called Southern Chicken Dumpling Soup.  It was last years Easter paper that I still have some scraps from.  The only thing that was not JillyBean Soup was some bling, twine with a postage stamp punch, plus the new sketch from Sketches: Creatively Yours.

Here is the original sketch:

Here is what I did:

Some REALLY old photo's scrapped

Today a new sketch is revealed at Sketches: Creatively Yours It is number 6-13.

The inspiration is:  CIRCLES

The sketch is:

Ali really does some nice sketches and you will see how all the DT's have been inspired and have all different takes on it.

Here is my take:

When I saw the sketch and had just refound these pictures I knew I had to scrap this memory.  The circles inspired me to use my Epiphany Punch and use some paper with paws on i to accent each picture. I know when my boys saw this they remembered the fun time with puppies.  It was also nice to see Baily, Jr. as a puppy again.  I am so glad I got to scrap this fun memory.

Go over and play at Sketches:  Creatively Yours and I would love to see what you create.

4 Hoots at Love To Scrap!!!

Today I am posting the new challenge for Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog
It was fun because it is Anything Goes.  So I decided to take the digi stamp our kind sponsor gave us at JELLYPARK.  I used the 4 Owls and decided to make a card set, whom I gave to a friend with envelopes.  (She loves owls and fall colors, so it was perfect).  I just copied and print them on a thicker vellum paper and used BoBunny dot paper and cardstock.  I attached the Vellum with brads and used some birthday stickers I had.

This was my example:

As you know, we normally have a limit of 2 entries per challenge. Beginning with this challenge, we're allowing one additional entry if you use a sponsor image! But there's a catch... you MUST mention in your blog post which sponsor image you've used and link directly to that image on the sponsor's site, and you MUST put #3 after your name when you link up below so that we know you're going for the extra entry using a sponsor image!

This challenge will run for two weeks, ending on May 19th at 6:00 PM EST. Grab your paper, scissors and embellishments, and get creative!

Come on over and play.  I can't wait to see what you create.

Cards in Envy -- Many Thanks for Challenge #4

Oh My Goodness, Cards in Envy has the best sketch this week.  I had so much fun working on it.
I rotated it so the rounded corners were on the bottom.
I used a SRM sentiment, My Minds Eye -- Indie chic, some olive and brown cardstock, and a corner punch to round the corners.'
Here is my card:

Remember, Cards in Envy is for cards that fit into a regular first class postage envelope. The most common size being the A2 (5.5 inch x 4.25 inch) OR a square card (5 inch x 5 inches or SMALLER). And please remember no lumpy bumpy embellishments. A good rule of thumb is--only one layer on foam tape, no buttons on foam tape, flat flowers (paper flowers are good), no rosettes, no super thick buttons or brads, etc. If all layers and embellishments together are thicker than 1/4 inch then it's not a card for Cards in Envy. Any cards that look too lumpy or bumpy or appear too thick will not qualify for the winners circle and may be removed from the challenge.

The challenge starts today, Monday, May 6th and runs until Sunday, May 19th. The Design Team will pick One Winner and a Top Three. Each will earn a Cards in Envy Badge for their blog.

Come over and play with us.

Spring is here

I am hosting a card challenge over at My Sketch World. The crop is called Spring Fling Crop and the items are due May 19th at midnight PST. My challenge is to use any shape on the card.

On my example, I chose to use octagon's using the new fiskar's punch, I also used some burlap and twine, with the paper line of Authentique -- Spring. I love how it came out. I found some old birthday stickers I had and my card was created.

Here is my example:
