Trendy Twine Vase

Hi Everyone,

Today I am showing a project that is both altered and repurposed using Trendy Twine.  My son bought a bottle of lemon aide and when he finished it, I put it in the dishwasher and the label came off perfectly.  Next, I used sticky back tape and wrapped the whole bottle.  I got my twine called Chocolate Cupcake (brown & pink) and wrapped the entire bottle with this twine.  The sticky back tape made it perfect and all I had to do was make sure it was even.  When I finished I had 2 star tags which I covered one in Chocolate Truffle and the other in Strawberry Cupcake .  On the back side I taped a loop and covered it with what I had printed out to my friend telling her she is a "Star".  I then filled it with a bright pink carnation and baby's breath and she loved it.
This made a great gift with a little bit of work.
Here are the pictures of it:    This shows the stars.

Here is the bottle covered with twine.

Here is an aerial of the flowers in it.

My 2 adorable Beagles.

Hi Everyone,

This weekend I scrapped and used one of the new lines from Echo Park called "Woof".  It was perfect for some professional shots I had taken of Brandi & Jager at Petco.  The pictures are fabulous, but the paper allowed me to explore using some challenges from a "Mother May I scrap".

Here is one called "PAWS"ATIVELY CUTE:

The next one is called BEST FRIENDS:

and the last one is called DOG DAYS:

I love them all, but I think my favorite is the last one.  You want to know a secret -- I usually don't work with circles since I don't like to cut them but I used punches and it worked perfect.

This is a great line for Pets, you should try it.

Matt is....

I finished another layout from Boys Rule Scrapbook Kit Club.  They had a sketch up and I used the Simple Stories Awesome paper line along with the embellishments that came with the kit and did a layout of my older son with that cute smile.

Here is the sketch:

Now here is mine:

Hope you enjoy your Mother's Day everyone.

Weekend Work

This weekend I decided I needed some time to scrap so I started to get some sketches and dig through my pictures.  This is what I did.

First I did the sketch for Boys Rule Scrapbooking Kit.  I used Simple Stories the Awesome Line and it is fabulous, she has everything you need in the kit.  The site has a sketch which I used and came up with this.

and my take on this:

I call it "1 of a Kind"
This is a shot of Matthew when he was 17 and going to visit JWU during his Senior Year.

Go try the sketch and have some fun with it.

2-Post about our DT call on your blog, along with your take on our sketch.

Don't forget, our Design Team Call runs until April 20th, can't wait to see your take on our fun sketch!!

So here is my take on it after I turned the sketch to look like this.

This i the way I put it and I realize it is on it's side, but I used Nikki Sivils new line of paper, some twine, green card stock, some brads and thickers.  So here is what I came up with.

Hello my name is Karen aka Soccerboyzmom.  I am so excited to part of the team as a Card Designer.
In case you don't know I have been scrapping seriously for about 12 years to catch up on my boys lives, sports, and places we have gone.  When I don't scrap them I do the entire family or my 2 beagles (who have become great subjects to photo).
I make cards and altered gifts for my friends, so making cards for MSW is right down my alley.

Here is the April 15th sketch from My Sketch World (link: http://www.mysketchworld.com )

Here is my example using the sketch:

I used Jillibean Soup Paper, flowers are Maya Road, letters are October Afternoon and the banners are cut out using the dies from My Favorite Things.  Of course I am using the fabulous sketch that Lucy drew for us to use.

Thanks for being here and now its time to head to Scarlett Salamone blog and check out her creation.

I would love for you to become a follower and see what I do.

Easter Tags that are Tim Holtz inspired

Happy Easter everyone!

I thought I would share the 2 tags I made with the help of Tim Holtz idea.  I gave these to my son's girlfriends with their baskets.  They were impressed and they were easy to do.

Here they are:

and this one

I am quite proud of them.
